Gorsley Community Shop and Post Office celebrates its first birthday at the beginning of September, 2019.

The shop was formed by the community following the closure of the former Shop and Post Office in August 2017.

The shop is attracting up to 70 customers a day, who can buy their daily newspaper and milk, their essential groceries, fresh bakery, local eggs and meat or treat themselves to freshly made cakes or various pasties. Where possible, stock is sourced from local businesses.

Since the Shop opened, surrounding villages of The Lea and Much Marcle have seen their Post Offices close. The Post Office at Gorsley gives these and other local villages a fantastic option to obtain the Post Offices services, which includes banking and travel money, together with a local convenience store, without the hassle of having to park in nearby towns.
