Madam, On behalf of the Ross Christian Aid Committee, may we pass on to your readers our heartfelt thanks for the generous response that local people made in Christian Aid Week, May 10th-16th.
The gratifying sum of £6955.59 has been sent to Christian Aid. Most of all, we thank the collectors for their hard work. Nearly 200 donations were gift aided which will increase our local giving. The money included the proceeds from a successful Christian Aid Lunch organised by Mrs Sue Stewart.
The house to house collection included Ross Town, Bridstow, Brampton Abbotts, Peterstow, Walford, Linton, Aston Ingham, Upton Bishop, St Weonards and the Border churches.
The generosity of Christian Aid supporters in places like Ross and the local area means that over 600 partner organisations across the world are helped as we all work towards ending the injustice of poverty.
