In its second year, the Iffers two-day Mini Festival at Hartleton Lake, near Ross, organised by Glyn Sherwood again attracted a good field of anglers.

The overall results were calculated on a section point basis which meant that the ability to adapt and be consistent was vital.

Andy Prosser did just that fishing steadily from indifferent peg draws on both days to take enough points with second and third places in section to win the festival overall.

As expected the main frame on both days was dominated by skimmer bream on pole tactics and only one quality tench was caught all weekend by Wrexham star, Greg Roberts on day two.

Andy's young son Sam set the pace on the first day of competition with an excellent 32lbs bag taken on the long pole with pellet as bait from peg 53 in the field.

Runner-up Craig Brown had his catch on similar tactics from a peg in the wood section.

On day two, event organiser Glyn Sherwood bucked the pole trend and employed his favoured method feeder approach for a good win from a poor draw. Just a pound behind was Greg Roberts who took his fish on 16metre pole with sweetcorn from another peg on the roadside.

Andy Prosser's 13 point total was closely followed by Martin Porter and Nick Probert, both on 12 points with the runner-up spot being decided on total weight.
