A development of 290 new homes in Ross will go ahead despite concerns regarding road safety raised at the Herefordshire Planning Committee meeting on Wednesday, June 25th. It was agreed that outline permission be given but all delegated details would be considered by the officers in conjunction with the local Councillors.
The development is on land east of the A40, opposite the Persimmon development and up towards the Label's roundabout. Access will be via the new roundabout which was installed as part of the Persimmon development, and a new roundabout. This will be created at the other end of the A40, nearer to the Label's roundabout.
The planning officers explained that the roundabouts and other traffic calming measures would reduce speed on this road, which is currently limited to 60mph.
