MADAM, Why have the pavements around town been left? Kyrle Street is ideal if you're training for the Olympic sled run, but if you're trying to get into any business or Red Meadow car park, it's a very steep slope. Forget it, it's like a sheet of glass: one poor lady, complete with child in pushchair, was upended. Why has no rock salt put down?
Most people know lots of elderly people live in the bungalows on Merrivale Lane, and the slope down into the main road is also worthy of gold medal performance just to stay on your feet. Why have the grit boxes been left empty around the town? Where are the people doing commuity service, and why are they not being brought in to deal with this? Surely they are not afraid of slipping on the ice? Answers on a postcard, please, council.
