It is half way through the 50th anniversary year for Audrey’s Fish Bar and so far it has been their busiest year yet.

Graham and Sharon Element have been running the shop for 25 years, before that it was run by Sharon’s parents, Ken and Audrey Riches.

Graham told the Ross Gazette that the whole family was delighted with how well their 50th anniversary celebrations had been supported by local people and other local businesses.

They have been running a raffle with a special prize for each month to raise funds for St Michael’s Hospice. In June the prize was a two course lunch at No 3 in Ross.

Over the past 25 years they have raised over £20,000 for various good causes.

Graham told the Ross Gazette that they are particularly grateful to those businesses which have donated prizes for their special anniversary raffle. These include Essential Sewing Services, Designer Flowers, Ross Garden Store, the Spar, Andy Cornwall, Hopes Ash Farm, Kevin Lane and Peter Hickman.

They will also be holding their annual coffee morning for Macmillan on Sunday, September 16th. Over the past five years they have raised £4,000 for this great cause.

Ken and Audrey Riches founded the business which is now run by their daughter, Sharon, and son-in law, Graham Element, along with their daughter Zoe.
