Nell Badger celebrated her 97th birthday on December 2nd. For most of us that would be an excuse to put our feet up and reflect on the many changes seen throughout a long life. Not for Nell though!
Every Saturday afternoon she volunteers at the St Michael's Hospice shop in Ross on Wye and has been volunteering in the Ross area for the past 28 years. Nell not only volunteers at St Michaels's Hospice shop she has helped run many other community events.
Nell has however decided to retire from the Christmas Carnival committee where she has been treasurer for many years.
Councillor Anne Gray organised a special birthday lunch for her with other members of the committee. They were able to say thank you to Nell for everything she has done to bring a little seasonal joy to the children.
Nell became a volunteer for St Michael's Hospice in 1981, raising funds for the building work to begin.
