Ross-on-Wye and District Cycling Club hosted the annual Don Woodman Memorial 25 mile open time trial last weekend, along with a new open ten mile event bringing club riders from around the country for a weekend of local cycle racing. With generous prizes on offer supported by Pershore based road bike specialists Echelon Cycles the weekend's racing attracted over one hundred entrants. Winning the 25 mile race in 55 minutes 14 seconds and coming third in the ten mile race in 20min 57sec top overall weekend prize for the rider that posted the fastest aggregate time over the two events went to in-form local rider Simon Harradine racing for Leisure Lakes Bikes. Ross Cycling Club put in a strong performance in the ten mile event to win the prize for the fastest team.

Thursday evening club racing this week returns to the more familiar setting of the ten mile race from Walford School to Lydbrook and back starting 7.30pm. Spectators and anyone interested in cycling are welcome to attend.
