Ross Town were still below par on Saturday when playing at home to Pegasus in the Strongbow cup, but managed to scrape a much needed 3-2 win.

Ross took the lead through Justin Halfpenny whose determination enabled him to rob the visiting 'keeper to score. This was short lived as the young Pegasus side equalised due to some slack defending from Ross.

Ross went 3 - 1 up in the second half, with two more goals from the ever impressive Halfpenny. His second came via a solo effort when he used his raw pace to score, the third via some good pass interchanges in the midfield from Adam Bridges and Paul Burnham.

The game was marred by the sendings off of Town's Carl Roberts and Lee Walker and Pegasus scored with a late consolation goal by their substitute, veteran striker, Leigh Harris.

Shaun Aston had a quality game at right back, but man of the match was Justin Halfpenny for his excellent all round performance and well taken hat-trick.
