The clocks have changed, light nights are here, so winter ergos and circuit training is over and Ross rowers can now get on the water every evening. Any one, young or old, fit or just wanting to be more active, can enjoy rowing and learn to row.

The club is now training for summer Regattas and as well as enjoying recreational rowing on the beautiful River Wye. On Thursday evening the club bar is open and there is no better place to sit outside with a drink and take in the iconic view of the town with your new friends.

Watch out for the successes of their Junior Section who have their first Summer event at Abingdon Head on 14th April after a very successful Winter Head season; they are a credit to the club and show what young people can achieve. Rowing is for everyone, at Ross there are a lot of Masters rowers who just enjoy paddling up to Backney and enjoying the beautiful setting and friendly, social life the club offers seven days a week. Rowing is addictive and a great team exercise.

Why not see if you’d like to row? Come down to the club for a free taster session on the weekend 13th, 14th April from 10.00 to 11.45am, or 15th, 16th June. You can then join the six week Learn to Row programme after Easter on Friday evenings and Saturday and Sunday mornings. To sign up contact Tim Ball, L2R coordinator [email protected]
