Proposals for possible changes to the one-way traffic system in Ross will be open for general debate at the next meeting of the Ross Town Plan (Rowtop) progress group on Thursday, July 5th. The meeting at the Larruperz Centre, starting at 7.l5pm, will consider a report by a sub-committee set up to consider traffic problems in the town and possible solutions.
One recommendation is that Copse Cross Street should be made one-way to relieve congestion and improve safety for pedestrians.
Will Frecknell, chairman of the subgroup, said that views on the one-way traffic system in Ross were many and various. Some people were content with the existing set-up, while others were strongly in favour of changes being made. Herefordshire County Council had turned down a general review of the one-way system in Ross, but indicated it was prepared to consider specific minor changes if they were practical and received public support.
Rowtop members feel it is important to call a public meeting so that everyone has a chance to voice their opinions about traffic matters in Ross.
