Members of staff at Ross Community Hospital and the volunteers who work for the Friends of Ross Community Hospital gathered to mark the beginning of a new era at there now that the work on a new lift has been completed.

Primarily, the lift will offer patients more privacy and independence, and it will make the Hospital garden much more accessible for staff, patients and visitors.

The Friends have provided around £85,000 for the project, which is about half the total cost. Plans to improve the garden area have already begun, and Chairman of the Friends of Ross Hospital, Jill Davies, told the Ross Gazette that she is excited to see the garden become a relaxing and beautiful space.

Help with the garden has been boosted by local groups such as the brownies and the Men’s Shed, as well as the Leos who donated funds last week to be spent on new flower bulbs.

Jan Elliot, Sister at the Hospital, told the Ross Gazette that having this second lift will make a big difference to the hospital.See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
