An information day has been organised by a local group, supporting people whose lives have been affected by cancer.

Ross Cancer Support Group is hosting the event at St Mary’s Church, Ross-on-Wye, on Tuesday September 20 from 3pm to 7pm.

Attended by Health and Social Care professionals and voluntary sector organisations from across the county, the event is free and open to all. It will provide the opportunity to gather information and speak with the various health professionals and support organisations. Refreshments will be available.

Paul Baker, chair of the Ross Cancer Support Group said: “If you, a member of your family or friends are of the 1 in 2 affected by cancer and need some advice, or you just wish to talk to someone, then please do come along to this event. It’s a great opportunity to learn about the support on offer in this area.”

For those unable to attend, Ross Cancer Support Group meet on the third Tuesday of every month, between 5.30pm and 7.30pm at John Kyrle High School, in the conference room at the sports Centre. The group aims to create a sense of community and support, a place to obtain information for people living with cancer or affected by it. We have a guest speaker most months. Drop in any time during these sessions, enjoy some refreshments and a friendly chat.

Ross Cancer Support Group was founded in 2017 with the support of a Macmillan grant.
