Madam, In last week's paper there was some discussion about the removal of a couple of parking spaces in Brookend Street to allow clear access for Aldi delivery vehicles. I'm sure this has been raised before, during the clearly very long gestation period prior to last week's welcome opening. During this time I remember asking the late Gordon Lucas what the latest information might be regarding the apparently stalled development. Gordon distinctly told me that Aldi were having to apply for a variation to their planning agreement to allow for delivery access as above. I'm sure the Council and Aldi will have the necessary paperwork in some dusty file. Others will no doubt also be aware. Welcome to Aldi who no doubt will make a strong contribution to Ross Town. After all this time, I am sure this business will make a positive contribution towards attracting and retaining shoppers to our lovely town. With apparently large scale housing schemes in the pipeline, the conclusion to this project is very timely.
