Angry business owners and local residents were determined to let Highways England know just how they felt about the roadworks on the A49 when they attended a meeting organised by Peterstow Parish Council this week.
A heated discussion took place at St Peter’s Church, Peterstow, on the evening of Monday, August 5th, when they met with representatives from Highways England, Herefordshire Council, Kier, and MP Jesse Norman’s constituency office, as well as Peterstow Parish Councillors, to discuss the ongoing challenges relating to the roadworks on the A49.
The loss of income for businesses and lack of consultation were main key issues that were discussed.
One Pengethley resident said Highways England should commit to a date to report back about the decisions made as a result of the meeting. He said: “Everybody has complained about the day time work, you said you will review this. What date will you report back to this community?”
Andy Butterfield, Head Of Service Delivery at Highways England, assured the meeting that the team are reviewing the discussions this week, and they will report back about the issues on Friday, August 9th.See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
