Local photographer Robert Jones has been selected as the photographer to cover Herefordshire in a major photographic project called What is England. He will be one of 48 photographers who will each represent one of the 48 counties in England. Their brief is to represent their own style of photography as well as their nominated county. Some live in the county they represent and some are discovering or rediscovering it for the first time.

The first theme is 'Person' and these will be published on the What is England website on March 1st. The organisers hope that by the end of 2010 the 288 images submitted over the course of the year will help to answer the brief 'What is England?'.

Robert has also been promoting the project on his own website where people can see some of his ideas for each of the themes of the project, and will be able to suggest their own personal preferences.
