Wye Valley NHS Trust is asking pregnant women, new mums, and their families to get involved in a fun interactive workshop to help shape local maternity services.
The Trust will hold its first ‘Whose Shoes?’ maternity listening workshop on September 25th, 2018, from 10am to 2pm, at the Town Hall in Hereford.
‘Whose Shoes’ workshop is a free event, which uses a specially designed board game to ask key questions about how maternity services could be improved.
Helen Price, deputy head of midwifery and nursing at Wye Valley NHS Trust, said: “This is a great opportunity to gather views and feedback from pregnant women, new mums, and their families to understand what they need at every stage of their maternity journey.
Local midwives and GPs are also invited to take part in the interactive workshop, alongside women and their families. The key purpose of the workshop is to have fun whilst sharing experiences in a comfortable environment, and light refreshments will also be available.”
This workshop is the result of local NHS organisations working together as a Local Maternity System (LMS). The LMS has been set up in response to NHS England’s Better Births report, which sets out a vision for safer, more personalised maternity care that reflects women’s choices and offers continuing joined-up care.
