MADAM, I was forced to seek the help of the good people of Ross and the vicar at St Mary's about six or seven weeks back by having to go to the charity food larder.
Basically this is provided by the local people of Ross, knowing how much hardship others face at this present time.
I recently lost my job due to ill health and then had my benefits cut and hadn't eaten for several days.A family friend drove me to see the vicar and my situation was explained and she gave me help without any kind of judgement. She basically saved my life, as I was not only hungry, but very depressed and feeling suicidal due to my illness and present situation.
The next day things looked brighter and my benefits had sorted themselves out too.
What makes me very angry is how these caring people begin to be abused once word gets out about the help they give.
I am concerned that people are receiving help who really do not need it and may be depriving someone who does.
Thanks for the opportunity to thank those that not only helped me but help day to day and without reward, taking these lovely people for fools is wrong and should be stopped.
