Dear Editor,
We moved into High House, St Owen’s Cross, also known briefly as Wilderness, a little over two and a half years ago . Since moving, wee have been trying to find any photographs or old sales particulars of the house and grounds. We have spent hours in the Herefordshire Archives and Records Centre, Historic England Archive in Swindon and any resources we can find online but there is not much more information than the Census records, which is unusual for a 300-year-old house.
High House is the tall white house at St Owen’s Cross, near the New Inn. We believe the house may have been derelict at some point, possibly even red brick, and may have had CND decoration for a while.
If anyone has any photographs, sales particulars or stories of how the house and grounds have been over the years it would be very much appreciated if you could get in touch. Even old family photographs, which happen to show parts of the house, would be of interest to us.
If you would like to get in touch please call Claire on 07813 353 221, or alternatively you can email [email protected]. You can also just drop in and see us.
