Bob Duberly of Hope Mansell spent years maintaining the gates at the entrance to his home, which originally came from the Old Toll House at Kerne Bridge. Bob’s father purchased the gates when the toll was decommissioned in 1948. Bob re-painted them yearly, but since his death his wife is unable to continue this. She wonders if someone would be interested in helping. This important piece of local history would have disappeared if it hadn’t been for Bob’s dedication.
