Ross-on-Wye’s National Childbirth Trust (NCT) has launched some exciting new groups to support parents in the local area.
NCT Ross-on-Wye’s branch was revived by a small team of volunteers earlier this month. Being parents themselves, the volunteers had many ideas and hopes for NCT in the region and quickly got to work, planning a range of groups for parents and expectant parents to enjoy.
The team is, therefore delighted to announce the launch of several free groups in Ross-on-Wye, including ‘Bumps and Babies’ for new and expectant mums and dads, (this group runs every Tuesday at 1.30pm - 3pm and all parents are welcome to join, ‘Sling Library’ which provides sling hire, advice and guidance, and ‘Ross Strollers’, a walking group for parents with buggies or slings. There will be other groups coming soon and they are based at the Ryefield Centre.
Sophie Turpin, NCT Ross-on-Wye Branch Treasurer said: “Having a baby is an amazing experience but it can also be quite isolating. Coming to these groups gives you a reason to get out of the house and socialise with people in your local area who can understand what you’re going through.
“I am delighted to be a part of the revival of the Ross-on-Wye branch; ensuring other parents get the support and friendship that NCT can provide. We’re open to everybody and are always looking for new mums and dads to join us.”
