A care company and complementary therapy centre in Hereford are joining forces to host a “wellbeing day” to raise funds for charity.
The event, being organised by Kemble at Home and the Yeleni Therapy and Support Centre, will take place on Saturday, March 4th and will include a range of workshops and therapy experiences aimed at supporting general health and wellbeing - all for donations to the charity.
There will be five different 30-minute workshops, two relaxation sessions, one of which includes a chocolate meditation, along with some seated yoga, self-help hypnotherapy and the chance to try out the benefits of the Alexander technique.
There will also be the opportunity to try 20-minute taster therapy sessions throughout the day, including Indian head massage, reflexology, Reiki therapy, back, neck and shoulder massage and Bowen therapy.
All proceeds from the day will go to the Yeleni Therapy and Support Centre Charity, which provides free therapeutic sessions and ongoing support to any cancer patient with any form of cancer to help them cope with the rigours of their cancer treatment and also to offer support to their carers and families.
Sandra Taylor, of Kemble at Home, formerly known as Kemble Care, based in Holme Lacy Road in Hereford, said the company was keen to support good causes in Herefordshire.
She said: “Our carers visit people in their own homes across Herefordshire and beyond, and we help people with a variety of different care needs, including those recovering from cancer.
“We are very impressed with the work being done at the Yeleni Therapy and Support Centre in Hereford and are delighted to be teaming up for this event.
“We know medical professionals do a great job to treat patients with cancer, but the extra support offered by charities like this can make a huge difference to people’s lives.
“So we hope by holding this wellbeing day at the centre we can help showcase the work they do and perhaps raise some money for the charity at the same time.”
The event will take place at the Yeleni Therapy and Support Centre, 2 Blackfriars Street, HR4 9HS, from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, March 4th.
Carers from Kemble at Home will be on hand to help during the day, providing healthy drinks and refreshments and a raffle with some great prizes.
Nicky Heath established the Yeleni Therapy and Support Centre Charity in 2010 after being inspired by working with cancer patients as a therapist.
She said: “I wanted to set up a charity where we could offer free complementary therapy sessions to anyone with cancer, and to provide a place of peace where both clients and their families can receive support whilst they are dealing with a very difficult time in their lives.
“We are very grateful for the support from the team at Kemble at Home and look forward to welcoming clients old and new at the wellbeing day.”
