During this recent cold weather we have seen treacherous conditions on the roads, schools closed and businesses forced to close for the day, however there have been wonderful stories of people going above and beyond to make sure the vulnerable are still cared for.

The District Nurses who cover the whole county have all worked together to ensure that patients who needed to be visited have been cared for. They have been visiting patients on foot in Ross-on-Wye to make sure they get the care that they need.

They have been leaving their cars on the main road and walking to their patients. Jade Davies, one of the nurses who normall works in Hereford, but lives in Ross was one member of this conscientous team who was working during the hazardous weather. She told the Ross Gazette "One of our girls walked eight miles, and one of our nurses who is seven months pregnant managed to walk to patient’s houses."

The patients have been extremely grateful for their dedication and care during this snow spell.
