Traders and shopkeepers in High Street are very worried that signs directing traffic out of the town, because of the roadworks at Edde Cross Street, are directing shoppers away from their businesses too.

Although Richard Mayo, Chairman of ART said the traders were pleased that, as a result of consultation with Wales and West, the work had been delayed until September. However it was still causing a lot of problems for the shops at the High Street end of town.

Caroline from Ross Old Books and Prints said that there should have been signs to direct people to car parks. She said drivers get very confused and even drive the wrong way on High Street and although the bus stops have signs on people are still not sure where they should be waiting.
