Whitchurch and Ganarew are commemorating the end of World War 1 with several events over the weekend of November 10th and November 11th, 2018.
These events will give something to the inquisitive, the musical, the foodies, the historians, the sociable and those who just wish to remember. More than a year has gone into the planning and execution of this weekend so the organsers would be very pelased to see as many people as possible visiting and and supporting the events.
The programme for the weekend events run from 10am to about 9pm on Saturday and from 10am to approximatley 5pm on Sunday.
The Fall of Poppies created by several local ladies will be on display and there will also be a torchlight procession to the beacon on Sunday.
There will be a sales table at this event with the 2019 Whitchurch and Ganarew Calendar avaiable for purchase, alongside local Christmas cards and assorted books and booklets. The books and booklets will be of an historical or local topic.
The World War 1 café will have a variety of offerings all made to Granny Dot’s recipes, she was a local lass as you will see. They have been carefully chosen to be the most interesting and tasty but different to the sort of items normally seen today.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
