The return of Saedly Dorus and the Hoolie Band to Ross-on-Wye for the latest ‘Hoolie for Hope’ night raised over £1,300 for the charity.

Over 100 people took to the dancefloor at the event, where the band played their signature disco funk sound with a folk edge.

“Hoolie for Hope 2015 was so good we decided to do it again,” said Hope’s Yvonne Button. “We had another terrific evening – it was great to see lots of familiar faces having a fun night and lots of lively dancers filling the dancefloor!”

The event, held at the Chase Hotel, was organised by Hope along with fundraising volunteer George Tait and sponsored by local companies including Bollington Insurance, No3, Mr T Dry Cleaners, the White Lion and Bennetts of Ross.

“I chose Hope because it is a local charity run by talented young people,” added George Tait.

Hope relies on community events like these in order to continue supporting young people when a close family member is diagnosed with a life threatening illness.

The charity is also the subject of a BBC Appeal later this year, which will help raise much needed funds.
