Ross Community Hospital will be receiving a £500 cash boost thanks to its stalwart community champions.

The Friends of Ross Hospital were delighted to see so many faces, old and new, who came to the coffee morning last Saturday (April 16) to support Ross Community Hospital.

The various stalls offered up, homemade cakes, cards, bric-a-brac, books, and a raffle. The amount raised was just over £500 - which exceeded expectations - and will go to provide much-needed equipment for the patients at the hospital. The amount of fund raised was considered 'marvellous' by the delighted Friends of Ross Hospital.

Chairman, Mrs Jill Davies, told the Gazette that she would like to thank everyone who attended, all the helpers, all those who supplied cakes and produce, and all those who donated prizes for the raffle especially; Designer Flowers, Crows Feet, and the Co-op store.

She added: "A special thanks must go to the Larruperz Centre for all their support. Look out in the Ross Gazette for our next fund raising events."

This is the latest in a series of successful fundraisers. Earlier this year the Gazette reported that the group received a cheque for £212.50 following a raffle organised by the Phoenix Theatre Singers group. Phoenix Theatre Singers director Mary Brigg and Lyn Smith who helped organise the raffle visited Ross Community Hospital on Alton Street to hand over the cheque to Friends of Ross Hospital chair.
