Despite an attempt by Wye Valley NHS Trust to strike a deal with its PFI partners to find an alternative to an increase in charges, parking fees at the County Hospital in Hereford are to increase in January.
The parking on site is managed by the Trust's PFI partners so there is no financial benefit to the Trust as a result of this increase. The Trust had been hoping to find an alternative to an increase in charges, but no alternative could be found while the current ten-year contract is in place. The cost to park will go up by a maximum of 50p an hour for the first hour, with smaller increases per hour for following hours.
