MADAM, I am, I believe, near to completing my treatment for colon cancer. It has been more than 18 months since the first surgery which was followed by chemo and radio theraphy. I have now had my reversal operation and I am striving to regain full health and vigour.

My reason for writing this is to reassure others, that may have to follow a similar path to mine, that the treatment, care and support I have received from the NHS has been excellent. In these times when politicians are arguing about the state of the NHS, the cancer unit in Hereford will not let you down. Also the after-care given by the local GPs and district nurses has been excellent too.

I would like to thank all those that have helped and supported me throughout my treatment. Also I hope to reduce the level of anxiety for anyone facing a similar ordeal to myself.
