Viv Lucas from Brampton Abbotts is a member of two local Women's Institute's Linton and Upton Bishop. Last year she entered her first ever photographic competition The Herefordshire Food and Drink WI calendar. Her entry entitled 'Food for Free' was the winning entry for July 2012.

The theme for the 2013 calendar is Herefordshire Horizons and her submitted photograph was the winner for January.

Viv said: "I was so pleased last year when my entry was chosen and it was a great thrill to see it in the calendar. This year I was so proud to be a winner again but I did have an advantage as Brampton Abbotts is such a beautiful area to live in and I think this photograph is a testament to that.

Viv told the Gazette:?"I love Jam and Jerusalem but there is much more to the WI than that. I joined in 1980 and I haven't regretted a moment of it. I have met many wonderful people and made many life long friends. It has given me the opportunity to do such things as gliding, abseiling, car mechanics, orienteering, a nature course, a family history course as well as lots of other things and our monthly meetings are interesting and informative. I would recommend any one to take a look at what we do, I guarantee a warm welcome."
