Dear Editor,
It was interesting to read in two letters that you published last week, about the theyworkforyou.com website. It is a great source of information about the way our MPs vote; in the case of Hereford and South Herefordshire, it shows that all too frequently it is not in the interests of many constituents.
Perhaps readers would be concerned to know that Jesse Norman voted against his constituents being legally entitled to rent accommodation that is fit for human habitation. Could this be related to him being a Landlord?
In talking about this to other people, I am clearly not alone in thinking it absolutely outrageous that he should be able to vote on the issue when he has such a clear vested interest in the outcome.
Exactly the same would apply to MPs who have investments in private healthcare companies and then vote on dismantling and privatising the NHS; again, this includes Jesse Norman, who received £5,000 from asset manager Crispin Odey, a major investor in Circle, a private healthcare company.
Although Jesse has decided not to answer questions in his column, I hope that he will explain to all of his NHS using constituents exactly how he is working on our behalf to protect and improve the health service on which we all depend.
After all, he says that he came into politics because of his strong sense of public service.
