The new school year at John Kyrle has started so well that it was even able to host an Ofsted inspection in the first full week of term. The inspection team, which had only announced their two-day visit the afternoon before, were very complimentary about the school. Key areas such as Student Behaviour, Safeguarding, the Sixth Form and Leadership & Management were given the highest Ofsted Grading of Outstanding. All other areas were graded as Good. These were exactly the same judgements as in the school's last inspection in 2008.
Mr Griffiths has written to parents and carers with the Ofsted judgements, explaining how the full report can be accessed. He told parents/carers that their sons and daughters were a credit to them as the inspectors had been so impressed with what they saw in classrooms and around school.
In addition to complimenting his students and staff, Mr Griffiths said he was delighted for his Governors, led by Chair, Karen Frost and Vice-Chair, Rod Barker, who gained fulsome praise from the inspectors.
Mr Griffiths told the Ross Gazette that former staff and governors would also be proud of this very positive judgement on John Kyrle. They had contributed to the development of the school, its high standards and positive ethos through all their hard work over many years.
