JOHN Kyrle High School is celebrating another strong year of GCSE results, with significant improvements across core subjects and a marked rise in overall student attendance.

The proportion of students achieving five strong passes including English and maths increased by 1.6 per cent, compared to last year, reflecting the school’s focus on raising standards across the curriculum.

“This bucks the national trend and we’re delighted,” observed headteacher Julian Morgan.

Attendance also played a crucial role in this year’s success. The school recorded a substantial increase to 93.2 per cent, equivalent to nearly 18,000 additional hours of teaching on the previous year- an improvement so significant it was recognised by the local authority.

This improvement has been a major factor in boosting outcomes in key subjects and demonstrates that students and parents believe in the school’s mission to be part of the local community.
