JOHN Kyrle High School’s Sixth Form Centre is set for an exciting refurbishment with significant improvements being made to its facilities.

The school, which recently achieved a ‘Good’ Ofsted report and outstanding A level results, has just announced that it is to undergo a major upgrade to its sixth form provision in the coming months.

Over the next few weeks, the school will be working closely with colleagues from the Heart of Mercia Multi-Academy Trust and, most importantly, its students, to shape a refreshed and ambitious sixth form offer.

This project will see significant improvements to the facilities– ensuring that John Kyrle High students continue to thrive not only academically but personally and socially too.

Headteacher Julian Morgan said: “Our sixth form is at the very heart of John Kyrle. We are incredibly proud of what our students achieve here, and this exciting project is about building on that success.

“With the support of our colleagues in the trust and the input of our own young people, we want to create a sixth form that is second to none – one that gives our students the very best opportunities for the future.”

Ofsted recently recognised John Kyrle High for its strong teaching and culture. With this momentum, the sixth form is poised to become even more attractive for local families looking for high-quality post-16 education in Ross-on-Wye and the wider catchment area.

The project will not only focus on academic excellence but also on equipping students with the skills, confidence, and resilience they need for university, apprenticeships, or the workplace.

Plans include enhanced study spaces and greater student involvement in shaping the sixth form experience.

Mr Morgan said he will share more details of the project as the refurbishment journey unfolds over the coming months.
