THE Revd Preb Kay Garlick, from Much Birch, the present Hereford Cathedral Chaplain, has been appointed as a Chaplain to the Queen and as such will become a member of the College of Chaplains, part of the Ecclesiastical Household.

In her new role Kay will be entitled to wear a cassock of the Queen's scarlet and a bronze badge, which carries the royal cipher and a crown within an oval wreath. She will be presented to the Queen at a garden party during the summer and will be invited to preach each year in the Chapel Royal at St James's Palace.

The honour is in recognition of her work on a local and national level and through her past membership of the Archbishops Council and as Chair of the Business Committee of the General Synod.
