Madam, I am writing to you concerning the ugly polytunnels which are now almost surrounding the pretty village of Kings Caple within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the County of Herefordshire.

I am disgusted and appalled that Herefordshire Council should have allowed this in the first place as I understand that councils have a duty to protect all AONBs.

There is now another application being considered on behalf of Pennoxstone Court Farm to further extend these polytunnels from the 35 plus hectares already in use.

I am strongly opposed to this, yet another application, because if granted it will effectively surround the village causing further degradation of our Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, bring further pollution – both visual and noise related, as well as danger to residents, primary school children and the general public with the constant movement by HGVs on narrow unclassified country lanes totally unsuitable for such traffic.

If this application is granted then this would be an outrageous breach of all the existing safeguards of our AONB amounting to a 'rape of our beautiful countryside'.

John Stannard, Kings Caple
