The great niece of Private Timothy Jenkins, from Ross-on-Wye, who was killed on the last day of the Falklands War, visited the Ross branch of the Royal British Legion last Wednesday, November 22nd.
Eight-year-old Kitty took some of her home-made jams and fresh eggs from her chickens to the Royal British Legion Meeting and she soon sold out.
When Kitty heard that the branch was raising money for a Falklands Bench she wanted to help. Together with her mother, Charlotte, she set about making jam which she has been selling, together with eggs from her chickens on a table outside their house.
Everyone was so impressed by Kitty’s efforts that she received a standing ovation. Graham Aplin the Chairman, gave her a Ross Remembers Medal and a goodie bag. She is continuing with her fundraising until she reaches her target of £200.
