I was disappointed to read the headline ‘Fiddling’ the figures published in the Ross Gazette on Wednesday 14th November 2018, as at a cursory glance your readers would have been left with entirely the wrong impression.

I would like to make it clear Ross Town Council has not been asked by the Larruperz Centre to ‘fiddle’ any figures or defraud HMRC of any VAT.

I would like to assure the residents of Ross-on-Wye we are fully compliant with all statutory and regulatory requirements in respect of our taxation. We use a proactive approach to manage our VAT affairs which enables us to take advantage of all legitimate opportunities to minimise our tax burden.
