Dear Editor

It is incredible that anyone should consider closing the Ross ambulance station in the second largest town in Herefordshire. Taking this action without consulting the public who pay for the service, is nothing but arrogance and corrupts trust in those who are meant to provide for our care and welfare.

What next: will the fire station, police station and hospital be taken from us too?

The central government had promised millions more for the NHS; has it not occurred to our decision makers to apply for some of this funding?

If saving money is now the priority, what has happened to saving lives?

Everyone who lives in this locality, knows the problems driving to and from Hereford to Ross - journeys are considerably delayed by farm traffic, floods, traffic jams and road works.

Perhaps we could hear from some of our paramedics how they feel about the situation.

They already do a great and demanding job - do we want to make it even more difficult for them?
