Dear Editor

Since moving to Ross-on-Wye with my wife Carol in 2016, I have been overwhelmed by the generosity, compassion and warmth of it’s residents. No more so than during this recent period of remembrance.

I have been touched by seeing so many of all ages giving so freely to the Poppy appeal.

I have been touched by seeing so many of the young of Ross playing such an active role and hearing them sing so beautifully at The Blessing of the Falkland Island Memorial.

I have been touched that on Sunday at the War Memorial, so many came to pay their respects to the fallen.

But above, I have been touched by the dedication and energy of the volunteer officers, committee and members of the Ross-on-Wye Branch of the Royal British Legion.

Thank you all
