Dear Editor
This is an open letter to the people of Ross-on-Wye and Ross Town Council regarding an area currently used for grazing of two horses off Archenfield Road.
You may know that there are two small entrances to this area (known as Stoney Stile) via Middleton Avenue and Hawthorne Lane -this is four acres of open grassland leading onto an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A wonderful area for all to see and enjoy. It is used from dawn ‘til dusk, and probably longer with people traffic, walking, running, dog days out, along with many tourists all using the area.
My question to all of you is: are you really, really sure you want to let this area go?
Ross Town Council has said the area could be appropriate for 15 houses – the developer /owner wants 50.
A large amount of people in the area don’t even know that this green-space will be up for development (as shown on the Neighbourhood Development Plan).
This is your last chance to save it.
Please do something for nature and our future generations. Please contact Ross Town Council to object via a short letter or please get something going on Facebook which I am not on.
Brian McCormack
