Dear Editor
Ross-on-Wye Lions Club has a long tradition of organising an annual Bonfire and Fireworks event. Until last year the event was held at The Chase Hotel, when we had to move and went to the Rowing Club field.
As most people in Ross are aware, the River Wye chose to flood during the weekend of October 26th and 27th, which sadly meant that we had no choice but to cancel this year’s event.
It takes the Lions a lot of work to prepare for the Bonfire and Fireworks event and we are also supported by a number of local businesses and individuals, for which we are very grateful.
Because of the ongoing risk of holding the event on the flood plain, we are considering where else in Ross, or the outskirts of Ross. we could hold the event. Therefore, if anyone has any workable ideas or offers for a potential site, please let us know and we will follow up the idea.
You can contact Ross Lions by emailing [email protected] or call 0845 833 578.
