Dear Editor

This extra layer of planning was introduced to give parishes a chance to decide where desperately needed housing could be the placed to meet the county council allocations.

Unfortunately  in lots of cases in the county and probably across the country just became a NIMBY group squabbling among themselves ensuring these houses  where away from them and wasting money to no end result.

Subsequently independent assessors are brought in,which seems sensible, after all you wouldn’t want your team refereed  by an opposition supporter.

I notice in your letters column of October 30th that a Bridstow Parish Councillor it seems is trying to seek to overthrow a decision that one assumes he disagrees with.

I would expect that anyone would stands as a councillor would understand how decisions are voted on, maybe even take a refresher course on the subject.
