Dear Editor
As a children’s football coach for the last 10 years in Ross I have finally been driven to take time to write about the increasing problem of dog fouling on the football pitches.
It has always been an issue, and most Sundays I, along with others spend time clearing the pitches of dog mess before a game can take place. But now this issue seems to be getting progressively worse. So much so that I had to even clear mess that was right in the middle of the penalty spot this weekend.
Hundreds of children play football on these pitches from all over the county every week and it is frustrating and disgusting to have to deal with other people’s dog mess.
I urge all dog walkers to not turn a blind eye, take responsibility by clearing up after their pet rather than leave it for others and report it if you see anyone not clearing up after their animal.
