Dear Editor
I would like to highlight that there are a lack of grit bins around the Brookfield Road area. By this I am meaning that residents in Brookfield Avenue and that end of Brookfield Road adjacent to Brampton Street have to walk to the far end of Brookfield Road (adjacent to Ledbury Road) to reach the nearest grit bin. As last year we had so much snow due to the Beast from the East residents had to dig their way out down the street then the road gets slippery if it refreezes.
If we had a grit bin this end of the street then this would not be such a problem. All we need is a small Grit Bin to help in these slippery conditions. Might I add coming down to the Brookfield Road junction from Brookfield Avenue when this is slippery can also be dangerous if cars cannot stop due to icy conditions with vehicles coming across Brookfield Road.
