This year’s Christmas tree in the town centre is a splendid site lit up on an evening.

As a contrast we can see the town’s ugliest Christmas tree in town festooned with dog poo bags on the John Kyrle walk where a regular dog walker flings them down the escarpment. 

This misguided individual obviously does not realise or care that his bagged up donations will be a hazard for years to come.

A poop scoop carried in a plastic bag and used to keep paths clear, putting the mess where it can break down naturally is one alternative to taking it back home and reduces plastic waste.

In this season of goodwill let us think of others.
