Dear Editor,
I have this past weekend attended and greatly enjoyed the events laid on by CreateRoss’s Festival of Music and Arts.
Friday night saw The Mighty Pledge soul band at The Venue wow us with their classic 60’s repertoire. On Saturday the Orchestra of the Swan delighted us with a varied programme of classical music. Sunday afternoon at St. Mary’s saw The DaSilva Marionette Circus Troupe entertain with their vintage puppets, which was particularly appreciated by my granddaughters!
Finally, at the Prospect, the Ross “Museum without Walls” was unveiled. This, by way of clever digital technology, enabled us to see what the old fountain at the Prospect looked like in its pomp on our iPhones and tablets.
A massive thanks to all the people and volunteers involved – you know who you are! You are all people who are ‘doers’ and organisers and your hard work helps to make Ross the great place that it is.
I hope that this event goes from strength to strength in future years.
Chris Bartrum, Ross-on-Wye
