Dear Editor

With regard to the neighbourhood local development plans, I can see no purpose in this extra level of planning, but merely a chance for NIMBYs to try and block development in their own area.

This absorbs a considerable sum of money which could have been used more wisely. This, when multiplied many times over, with the parishes of Herefordshire each putting forward their own ideas, it must run into hundreds of thousands. A planner will override these at his or her discretion, after all it’s what they are paid for.

We have had quite new developments approved despite any local  opposition.
