Dear Editor
Through your pages I would like to pass on the sincere thanks of the Thomas Blake Garden Volunteers for all the support they have received from the local community over the last 12 months.
We have been very grateful to be presented with generous cheques by both the Rotary Club of Ross-on-Wye and the Ross-on-Wye Horticultural Society.
The money is a big help and is being used to buy equipment and plants for the garden.
We have also been delighted to welcome volunteers from Two Rivers Housing on a couple of occasions, who have done a wonderful job painting railings and other street furniture, and The Wye Valley and Forest of Dean Mens’ Shed who have refurbished three of the benches here.
In addition to this, we have also enjoyed having a visit from the Ross-on-Wye Community Clean Up Crew, and have had support from local residents and donations of plants and many compliments from those who walk through the gardens.
If anyone is interested in volunteering with our friendly group we meet (weather permitting), on Sunday mornings in the gardens.
Councillor Caroline Utting
