Dear Editor,
I went round to Cawdor a few days ago and was pleased to find it, more or less, as it was in the 1940s.
Cawdor Cottage is still there, where Mr Braun used to live, and the older houses are still there and haven’t been replaced. The house at the bottom of Cawdor, ’Netherley’, is still there - where we used to visit, Mother and myself, way back in the late 1940s.
In those days it was just a pathway access - and no tarmac road, so you couldn’t take a car down there, because it was too steep and too bumpy!
